Firefly: The Game
“After the Earth was used up, we found a new solar system and hundreds of new Earths were terra-formed and colonized. The central planets formed the Alliance and decided all the planets had to join under their rule. There was some disagreement on that point. After the War, many of the Independents who had fought and lost drifted to the edges of the system, far from Alliance control. Out here, people struggled to get by with the most basic technologies; a ship would bring you work, a gun would help you keep it. A captain's goal was simple: find a crew, find a job, keep flying.” – Shepherd Derrial Book
Firefly, the popular Fox television series created by Joss Whedon, comes to life in a new boardgame from Gale Force Nine. Compelling characters, great storytelling and an evocative universe have made Firefly a fan favorite for over a decade. Now fans of the television show and board games can chart their own course with Firefly: The Game.
In Firefly: The Game, players captain their own Firefly-class transport ship, traveling the ‘Verse with a handpicked crew of fighters, mechanics and other travelers. As a captain desperate for work, players are compelled to take on any job – so long as it pays. Double-dealing employers, heavy-handed Alliance patrols and marauding Reavers are all in a day’s work for a ship’s captain at the edge of the ‘Verse.

New Expansion Blue Sun
Fire up your engines and full burn out to the edge of the ‘Verse. This fall, Firefly: The Game – Blue Sun expands the game into new territory. A new Board section pushes the ‘Verse outwards, adding new systems to explore and exploit. Navigate this frontier space with an all new Nav Deck. A new Supply Planet offers new Gear to purchase and new Crew to hire. Two new Job Contacts offer new opportunities and unique game-changing challenges while the game’s other Contacts have new Jobs to claim a piece of the Rim for themselves. Two new Leaders present new strategies for players to execute as they focus on three new Story Cards. Two additional Reaver Cutters and new rules for these dangerous savages put the ‘Verse on high alert. Reaver activity is on the rise and your Crew is on the menu!
A 10” x 20” map extension opens a whole new region to explore: the frontier of the ‘Verse, part of an area of space known as the Rim. Rim Space presents captains with new hazards to navigate, including the increased threat of the feral Reavers!
Rim Space is not a place for the faint-hearted, a ship pushing past Border Space out towards the raggedy edge of space best be ready to deal with what’s out there. A good mechanic and healthy supply of parts will keep your ship’s buffer from blowing out mid-flight or that old fuel coupling from springing a leak when you’re far from the nearest fuel depot. There are a lot of mysteries out on the Rim, stories about entire colony ships destroyed by Reavers and other ships lost to space, so keep an eye out for lucrative salvage opportunities, just make sure that the fate of those derelicts don’t befall your own ship and Crew.
While the far-flung worlds of the Rim have naught but the basic necessities, the governing world of Meridian is a vibrant, thriving world with a robust economy and exotic markets. This is due in no small part to the presence of the secretive Blue Sun Corporation headquartered on this world, far from the prying eyes of the Alliance. All manner of specialty goods are available here, offering captains an edge over their rivals and some small measure of protection from the threat of the bloodthirsty Reavers.
Firefly: The Game – Blue Sun will be available later this year. We’ll be offering previews of the expansion throughout the summer. In August, at Gen Con 2014 in Indianapolis, players will get their first full look at the expansion! Get your ships ready, new opportunities await you out on the Rim.

Set course for Firefly: The Game – Kalidasa
The second Rim Space Expansion set for Firefly: The Game, Kalidasa adds a massive star system to the ‘Verse with loads of new opportunities for adventure and profit. No sector of space is safe as the long arm of the Alliance reaches out beyond the central planets with the addition of the Operative’s Corvette. Every region of the ‘Verse becomes more dangerous with the addition of new Nav Cards for Alliance Space, Border Space and Rim Space. Two new Contacts, including the twin brothers Fanty & Mingo, provide new work opportunities for ambitious crews, especially those willing to get their hands dirty. The bustling port of Beaumonde offers exciting new gear and supplies for captains of all sorts. The bounty of the Rim also flows back to other Supply Planets with new crew, gear and ship upgrades appearing on other worlds. Finally, new Set Up cards, new Story Cards and a host of surprises await the bold.
Firefly: The Game – Kalidasa will be in stores in October. Captains, check your charts and top off your fuel tanks, Kalidasa is calling!
"We found a new solar system and hundreds of new Earths were terraformed and colonized."
With Firefly: The Game – Kalidasa, captains will explore a whole new region of the ‘Verse - the far side of the Rim, Kalidasa. A densely-packed system, Kalidasa contains a number of new worlds to visit, from the frontier planet of Aberdeen to mighty gas giant, Zeus. The brightest planet in this cluster is Beaumonde, the beautiful jewel of Kalidasa. Captains will want to venture to this bustling planet and make contact with the twin brothers, Fanty & Mingo, as well as shop the markets for unique new Gear and scout for potential new Crew. Beaumonde is an excellent starting point to explore the region.
With so many frontier worlds, contacts from across the ‘Verse are eager to do business in Kalidasa. Now business in the Rim is picking up (and then delivering, and sometime highly questionable). Even struggling crews will be able to make work across the system until such time as they can find a real paying job. In Kalidasa, opportunity abounds. This wealth of worlds has attracted many on the run or them that's looking to start over, but the Alliance is never one to forget a slight and Parliament’s reach is long. Kalidasa is not the safe haven that many hoped it would be.
Find your fortune in the vast frontier of the Rim when you add Firefly: The Game – Kalidasa expansion to your game!
