Critical Role's The Legend of Vox Machina reunites your favorite D&D heroes for a professional-quality animated special!

Critical Role is a weekly livestreamed Dungeons & Dragons game featuring a group of prominent voice actors, who happen to be best friends. Each week, veteran Dungeon Master Matthew Mercer leads the cast through epic adventures set in the world of Exandria! Trust us — it’s rad.

Our original storyline centered on a group of heroes known as Vox Machina — Pike Trickfoot (gnome cleric, Ashley Johnson), Keyleth (half-elf druid, Marisha Ray), Percival “Percy” Fredrickstein Von Musel Klossowski de Rolo III (human gunslinger, Taliesin Jaffe), Grog Strongjaw (goliath barbarian, Travis Willingham), Scanlan Shorthalt (gnome bard, Sam Riegel), Vex’ahlia (half-elf ranger, Laura Bailey), and Vax’ildan (half-elf rogue, Liam O’Brien) — as they battled the forces of evil and learned to work as a team. Their epic tale concluded in November, 2017 after 115 episodes and 373 hours of gameplay.

The show is still going strong, now over 50 episodes in to our second season, which tracks the misfits known as the Mighty Nein. Critical Role reaches a wide, international audience called Critters, who are just about the greatest fans in history.

Monday the 4th of March @CriticalRole launched a kick-starter campaign to reach $750,000 in 45 days, less than 24 hours later they had: $3,888,435 and there is still another 44 days left. All Stretch targets have been exceeded so new ones were invented with the help of Twitch Chat.

Well done Matt Mercer and everyone at Critical Role, this will be a pivotal moment in your history, Songs will be sung, Statues crafted and honors bestowed.

Check out this sneak peek The Legend of Vox Machina animatic. It's still very early in the process, but we've started getting back character design tests and rough animatics. Without spoiling too much, we thought we'd give you a sneak peek at our work so far, as well as some unfinished footage!

Keep in mind -- an "animatic" isn't final animation. It's an assembly of rough storyboard panels cut together with temporary audio to help animators see how a scene will be put together. There's usually no color, no music, stuttering movement, and you might even see notes or arrows scribbled on the drawings.

From a sinister necromancer to a powerful curse, the group confronts a variety of obstacles that not only test their skills, but also the strength of their bond. The Legend of Vox Machina, an adult animated fantasy-adventure series slated to launch on February 4, 2022, on Amazon Prime Video.
