Im ersten Trailer zu Alita: Battle Angel fertigt Christoph Waltz das Cyborg-Mädchen Alita (Rosa Salazar) an, die ihre ungewöhnlichen Kampfkünste auch gleich unter Beweis stellt.
Die Handlung spielt im 26. Jahrhundert. Die Erde besteht fast komplett aus Wüste und Menschen wie Cyborgs leben gemeinsam in einer trostlosen Welt. Als Dr. Dyson Ido (Christoph Waltz) auf einem Schrottplatz die Überreste eines weiblichen Cyborgs findet, nimmt er sie mit und setzt sie wieder in Stand. Mit ihrem neuen Körper aus einzigartigem Metall ist Alita (Rosa Salazar) fast unbesiegbar. Als Kopfgeldjägerin macht sie Schurken, Verbrecher und Kriminelle dingfest.
